About Us

Little Beans Childcare (Sussex) Ltd started it’s journey in Portslade as a childcare setting with a difference with its core aim to always offer flexible and affordable childcare with no compromise on the quality.

Our Portslade setting offers a warm, nurturing, home from home family environment for your children aged between 1 and 4 years. We do have space for children before their 1st birthday and this is considered on a case by case basis. We provide access to our pre school via Portslade also, so if its an outdoor enriched curriculum you are looking for in Brighton/Hove/Portslade we may be able to help.

Our Pre School in Horsham is designed to support children from age 2 and beyond in their journey to being ''school ready''

A hybrid setting with a huge emphasis on outdoor learning in our beautiful green space. On a daily basis your children will be at one with nature, we spend most days playing in our mud kitchen making mud pies and leaf soup!

We aim to offer the best elements from a formal nursery whilst maintaining the warmth of a traditional home from home setting. We are fully committed to providing an environment that supports excellent learning and developmental progress in the early years across all areas of development.

  • To provide a warm and caring home from home environment for your little ones to flourish and develop.
  • To work in partnership with our parents.

Every child in our care has a voice, we listen to their opinions and implement suggestions wether they be indicative or verbal.

We are able to give chidlren medicine whilst in our care and there is a strict policy which has to be followed.

Nappy changing is well thought out and we will have a specified changing and toileting area for your chidlren to use, we positively encourage toilet training and will support this where we can.

Allergens are everywhere in todays childcare settings, we are implementing a not Nut and No Egg policy for all food which is brought into the setting or provided by us.
Both of our settings have a named Special Educational Needs Officer (SENCO) , this individual is also the Inclusions Officer (INCO) officer for both of our settings as the nominated key worker for a child with additional educational needs. This individual is responsible for the design and planning of the environment to enhance learning opportunities for ALL children.
A key worker will be assigned to you during admission to our settings and this person will conduct a baseline assessment for your child and monitor their development during their time with us - this is called a learning journey.
We use a system called ''Babysdays'' to record all valuable information about your child during thier time with us.
We also ask for you to complete an ''All about me'' sheet prior to their first session for us to discuss as a staffing team, this also coupled with a copy of your chids two year check we will be well armed to support them in the best way we can.

If you would like to to enquire about joining either of our settings please contact us on 07738608978 and speak to Jo Bond.

We will always liaise with the child's next setting/school. We will share information about the children's journey with them and specific information about what makes them unique.

With regards to school readiness and transitioning from an early years setting to a primary school we will even arrange group visits to the schools in order to provide a positive foundation for them to begin their transition to their new provision. This of course is going to be harder now with covid restrictions but we will do all that we can to support each individual child in their movements to new places/spaces from our care.
Both of our settings will always make reasonable adjustments to ensure we remain as accessible as we can be at all times.

Horsham - flat access and a flat main hall. Ramp will be available early 2020. Disbaled toilet and washing facilities also available.

Portslade- being a home from home setting minimal adjustments have been made - doors are wheelchair accessible and we have a flat entrance to the rear of the property.
